Nissen, 1078 (Pomologia) and 1077 (Fructologia); Pritzel, 4755 (Dendrologia) ; Stafleu, TL2 3766, 3767 and 3768.
The first work, dedicated to pomology, is illustrated with 20 superb full-page engravings sumptuously illustrating apples and pears entirely hand-colored at the time; 12 for apples and 8 for pears.
The second work deals with fructology. It contains a description of apple trees, pear trees, quinces, cherry trees, plum trees, apricot trees, peach trees, almond trees, fig trees, grapevines, sweet chestnuts, walnut trees, hazel trees, medlar trees, blackberry bush, raspberry bush, berries, currant bush, barberries, dogwoods.
This treatise on fructology is illustrated with 19 beautiful engravings representing each fruit described (275 x 210 mm), including 2 for the currant bushes, in very fresh colors.
As for the third work, it deals with tree planting and French gardening practice.
Very beautiful copy – tiny foxing or marginal waterstains – printed on large Holland paper, untrimmed, with sumptuously contemporary hand-colored engravings.
